Per instruction, Show Car Glaze should be applied, or should only need to be applied, once. Show Car Glaze is not meant to be a paint sealant or permanent paint protector. Layering is not recommended, but it is a technique used with various polishes meant to retain the mirrored effect long after a single use. Show Car Glaze is considered body shop safe and should not affect paint adhesion in any way.



It is also safe for industrial car washes. Usually, the shine will go away after washing, but layering can possibly retain the shine through several washes as each layer of oil is washed away. This technique can also waste product with little return. Meguiar's recommends using Show Car Glaze sparingly and buffing clean using as many towels as necessary if being applied by hand. This should optimize the reflection and boost the shine.



The effect is similar to washing, only with oil, so that the gloss lasts longer. Most car shows require showings that last from one to three days, and Show Car Glaze is designed to provide a high definition gloss for that duration of time. If a car is being shown every weekend throughout the summer, for instance, Show Car Glaze would be applied only once a week. Many other polishes, most of them oil-based as well, aim to produce similar results, but Show Car Glaze has been a standard among professional and serious car enthusiasts for several decads.
